What Happens When You Make a Referral
A faculty referral is reviewed using the same process as a student’s own request for support — nothing about it is treated as less important because a student didn’t submit it herself. Dr. Nasir Mohammad Bhat aims to respond within 4 working days, or within 1 hour if what you describe indicates a possible safety concern.
The student is informed afterward — by the Department of Psychology, not by you as the referring faculty member — that a wellbeing referral was made and why, in general terms, unless doing so would itself create a safety risk. This is the Department’s confirmed default, not something each referral decides individually.
